BCS provides a range of in home care and social support services that assist people in our community to live independently. BCS offers a person focused service by professional employees who are flexible in responding to individual needs. Our team provides assistance across a wide range of support options.

BCS can assist people over the age of 65 to live independently in their home for as long as possible. BCS can help with activities of daily living and provide ways to stay connected with the community.

Aged support services can be accessed by individuals over the age of 65 (or over age 50 for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people), who reside in the ACT and may not be accessing an aged care package.

BCS can also help people living in the ACT who have a temporary or episodic health condition. Support provided helps with activities of daily living during recovery.

To access this service individuals must have temporary or episodic conditions (including mental health), be in post hospital care and support and have a disability that is not ‘significant and permanent’, as is required for NDIS eligibility. Services are for people under the age of 65 (or under age 50 for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people).

Assistance is available for twelve weeks during recovery. Support may be able to continue beyond 12 weeks in exceptional circumstances.

Support services on offer include domestic assistance (help with housework), personal care (help with showering and dressing etc.), social supports (help to get out and about), garden maintenance (minor repairs), social groups to meet new people and get connected, medical transport, in home respite (giving carers a break) and care coordination.
