About Us

Birralee Care and Education Centre is an 86 place centre, situated on the lower ground of 4 National Circuit Barton. Birralee has a priority of access to the Attorney Generals Department; its sister Centre Acacia is located in the 3-5 National Circuit. Both of these Centre’s have a combined waiting list.

Birralee is the newest Centre managed by Community Services #1 which opened in January 2013. The Centre has 5 rooms with three of them catering to children under the age of 2 years. Birralee is a modern centre with large windows for the children to view the outdoor yard and for children to access outdoor yard. A dining room is the hub of the Centre where the Birralee children can share their meals and have a connection with each other.

Birralee’s name is derived from an Aboriginal dialectic meaning ‘children’. To embed this into our program Birralee has an Elder Duncan Smith who attends the Centre monthly to share his culture and heritage with the Birralee children.
