The Belconnen Community Service Gym and Fitness program features a series of fitness classes intended for the more mature person, classes include fitness without machines, multi fitness, strength with machines and Power Bar.
No Machines Mature Fitness is a class intended for the more mature person. Improve strength, balance and coordination to help improve your everyday activities. This class involves using fit bands, swiss balls, light hand weights, and aerobics. Classes operate Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 11:30am-12:30pm.
The Mature Multi Fitness program is a low impact cardio, strength based gym class that will include sessions such as cross trainer, interval training, and low impact boxing. Goes from 12:30-1:30pm on Wednesdays.
Improve your fitness and functional strength for your daily activities in the Mature Strength (Machine) class. This class combines machine exercises with basic free weight exercises. Exercises are simple and tailored to all levels. Classes are on Wednesday and Friday from 10-11am.
For those wanting to achieve a better quality of life, long into their senior years, Power Bar is a fixed choreographed weights class and is aimed at toning the muscles, strengthening the bones, increasing the body’s metabolism and burning unwanted fat. Power Bar operates on Thursday at 11am-12pm and on Friday at 12:30-1:30pm.
The Belconnen Community Centre Gym and Fitness program is a low-cost fitness option, with no membership fees, affordable classes and a flexible multi-class card system. This fitness program offers publicly accessible classes on weekdays. Classes are structured to meet a variety of needs, and are suitable for people of all ages, abilities, and fitness levels.
